This material offers children's first experiences with functional reading through simple command cards that invite them to perform meaningful actions.
Each reading activity has an immediate purpose: understanding written language in order to act independently. Through this work, children discover that reading has a practical purpose while naturally developing comprehension, attention and independence. Montessori Purpose: To develop reading comprehension through the independent interpretation and execution of written instructions.
