05. Root Nomenclature
This material invites children to explore one of the most essential parts of a plant: the root.
Through scientific nomenclature and observation, children discover how roots anchor the plant while absorbing the water and nutrients necessary for growth. Using a real root during the presentation enriches observation and strengthens the connection between the material and nature. Includes: Five main parts of the root. Picture cards. Labels. Definitions. Control Book. A real root is recommended during the presentation. Montessori Purpose: To identify and name the main parts of a root while understanding its role in water and nutrient absorption. Material Preparation: Cut out the cards, glue the front and back together, laminate them and bind them into a Control Book.
