04. Plant Nomenclature
This material introduces children to the overall structure of a plant through scientific nomenclature and direct observation.
By identifying each part, children discover how every organ works together to support the plant's growth, nutrition and reproduction. The presentation becomes especially meaningful when accompanied by a real plant, allowing children to connect the material with nature. Includes: Four main parts of a plant. Picture cards. Labels. Definitions. Control Book. A real plant is recommended during the presentation. Montessori Purpose: To identify and name the main parts of a plant while understanding the function of each structure within the plant's life cycle. Material Preparation: Cut out the cards, glue the front and back together, laminate them and bind them into a Control Book.
